About Us

In the event of casting children for Feature Films, TV Series & TV Commercials the request has become increasingly essential to have a qualified teacher/studio teacher/labor law representative, accredited child minder on set.

We are Education on Location and we look after the welfare and education of children in the entertainment industry.

  • Education on Location has been established for 13 years and cares for minors working in all aspects of the entertainment industry by providing for their education and welfare according to the Code of Good Practise and Education Act.

  • Our teachers/child minders maintain the highest standard as mandated by the Department of Labour and The Code of Practice for the engagement of cast in the Screen Production Industry.

  • Teachers/Chaperones contracted in the film industry must have teaching, child care qualifications or appropriate experience and/or nursing qualifications and a clean driver’s license.

  • Over and above our standard of educators, we take great pride in securing the safety and the moral environment of the young performers that are under our care.

  • We follow The Code of Practice for the Engagement of Cast in the New Zealand Screen Production Industry “The Pink Book” 6 June 2005 Edition. We also follow the Act No. 75 of 1997/Sectoral Determination 10: Children in the performance of advertising, Artistic and cultural activities (SA) and International Regulations stipulated in “The Blue Book” regarding studio teachers, which explains that “studio teachers (on set tutors) in addition to teaching:

1. Have the responsibility for caring and attending to the health, safety, and morals of              minors under sixteen (16) years of age

2. Shall take cognizance of such factors as:

  • working conditions

  • physical surroundings

  • signs of minor’s mental or physical fatigue

  • demands placed upon minor in relation to minor’s age, agility, stength, and stamina”
